For the BONNENFANT project, larch wood was specified as the primary material for all window frames. This choice was driven by both technical performance and aesthetic value. Larch is a naturally resilient timber species, well suited to demanding climatic conditions, offering excellent durability and insulating properties for energy-efficient building envelopes. Its warm and tactile appearance also contributes to comfort and integration with the overall building design. Larch is one of several premium timber options offered by Mestre Raposa, selected for projects where sustainability, longevity and performance are paramount.
Across the entire school complex, the window systems were designed to support optimal natural light distribution in classrooms and circulation areas, ensure robust thermal and acoustic performance aligned with French building standards and integrate precisely with the architects’ vision for functional and welcoming educational spaces.
By collaborating closely with architects, contractors and project teams, each window element was delivered in accordance with strict dimensional and performance requirements, assuring consistency across all three buildings.
